ABOUT heidi

beginnings

Hi, I’m Heidi! I am a wife, mother, and doula, and I’m so glad you’re here. I discovered birth work after the birth of my second daughter in 2019, and it has been a deeply meaningful part of my life ever since. I love attending births and supporting mothers during labor and through the postpartum period. Birth is a sacred journey, and it’s an honor to witness.

I began focusing on postpartum work when I saw a real need in my community. While more and more mothers are recognizing the value of birth doulas, postpartum care is still often overlooked. Many mothers return home from the hospital with little support, relying only on what they learned in a class or book. We are seeing alarming levels of maternal dis-ease, and too often the solution is simply a prescription. Mothers need—and deserve—more. Their bodies and minds are wise, and they are sounding the alarm.

EDUCATION & Training

I am continually expanding my knowledge to provide the best care possible. Some of my training includes:

  • DONA Trained Birth Doula (2019)

  • Lactation Management Certificate (2019)

  • Cuarentena Postpartum Doula Training with Sariah Price (2020)

  • Herbalism for Midwives, Midwives College of Utah (2020)

  • Maiden to Mother Postpartum Care Training Creator and Facilitator (2024)

  • Lifeways North America Early Childhood Certificate (2025-26)

Before becoming a doula, I earned my degree in Art History with honors from Brigham Young University (2017). My study of early modern Christian art and Marian devotion first sparked my fascination with birth, maternity, and the Divine Feminine. When I gave birth to my first daughter I was filled with wonder. I left academics behind to follow a new path that led me here.

just for fun

In addition to birth and postpartum work and caring for my family, I also enjoy:

  • Morning kundalini yoga and meditation

  • Working with herbs and running my herbal business on Etsy

  • All things intentional community and gathering with like-minded women

  • Homeschooling, forest school meetups, and teaching part time at our Waldorf cottage school (I teach the littlest ones age 3-5)

  • Singing the seasons with the Solringen Singers

  • Reading good books

  • Handwork—I love knitting and felting and all things linen and wool. I love collecting vintage embroideries and hanging them on my walls at home

  • Cooking and learning new skills—feeding people is my love language!

  • Spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains or by the shores of Utah Lake

It’s a privilege to move with the rhythms of the seasons and life itself. I hope you feel welcome in this space and that this gives you a sense of who I am. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story too.

about maiden to mother

Becoming a mother is one of life’s greatest initiations. Certain spiritual traditions describe three stages in a woman’s life: Maiden, Mother, and Crone. Each transition is a threshold, inviting reflection, letting go, and stepping into a new way of being. Birth invites you to journey inward and back out again as you re-center your life around the new life you have created.

In this journey, you can remember who you were while envisioning who you will become. You are all of your past selves, held together. During birth and postpartum, we hold space for you, witnessing your strength, trusting your intuition, and honoring your natural authority.

Our logo reflects this journey:

  • A 3-circuit labyrinth representing life’s transitions, birth, and rebirth

  • A spiral symbolizing cycles, nature, and the Mother Goddess

  • A flower and roots in the womb, evoking growth, grounding, and the placenta as the wise tree of life

This is a visual reminder of the sacred, cyclical, and creative power of motherhood.
