Rebozo Closing Ceremony
$200
A rebozo closing ceremony or “Closing of the Bones” is a wonderful way to ease your transition into new motherhood. Pregnancy and birth is a time of expansion and opening, so during postpartum we hold and create space for the "closing” and integration of the birth experience.
This ceremony is often done days or years after giving birth or any time you feel called to close a chapter and set a new intention. Sometimes the ceremony comes months or years after birth, marking the end of a breastfeeding or childbearing journey or as a meaningful ritual following loss. The Closing of the Bones in Mexico is called “Cerrar la Cadera” (Closing of the Hips) or a “Cerrada” (A Closing). This traditional practice is also believed to have origins in Russia and Morocco amongst other places.
The ceremony may be scheduled in your home or in Provo, Utah (for a discount). The full ceremony can take up to 2 hours and may include any of the following:
Herbal foot soak
Application of warming womb salve and Mayan abdominal work
Rebozo sifting and alignment
Rebozo binding (Closing of the Bones)
Guided meditation for integration
Optional inclusion of a few close friends or family members if desired
Creation of meaningful altar
Intention setting
Tea preparation
A safe space to process and be witnessed through transition
Discount for birth clients. Ceremonies are included in postpartum care package
